Integrating Faith and Learning

We live in an increasingly secularized society that pushes religion and spirituality into the fringes of our lives. Children raised in such a culture find it challenging to draw connections between the personal religious commitments, or those of their family, and the rest of their lives. Following Christ, today is increasingly treated as more like an accessory to one’s life rather than the center of one’s life. However, this is not the sort of life that Jesus desired for his disciples.

We desire our students to know the fulfillment that comes from seeking to glorify God in all that we do. Jesus taught that the most important commandment for a follower of God is “to love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind (Matthew 22:37).” According to Jesus, there is not part of our lives that we should not use to love God. The whole of one’s life, as Paul put it, should be poured out as a sacrifice to God (Philippians 2:17).

Whether our students are playing on the soccer field or learning math in the classroom, they will encounter a Christian vision for life. Aug Prep is a school where students and teachers delight in discovering the beauty, goodness, and truth of God’s creation. Our teachers seek to infuse their classrooms with a Christian worldview and to show our students that all knowledge is interconnected because it has its source in God.
