Teaching is Ms. Banks’ second career. After graduating from Michigan State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Russian, Political Science, and Economics she worked in and moved between the cities of Washington, DC, New York City, and Moscow, Russia for 10 years. In her early 30’s she returned to college to pursue a degree in education. She obtained a teaching certificate in 2004 and a Masters of Science in Education in 2012.
Since 2004, Ms. Banks has taught high school social studies. She taught economics and US History for 10 years at McFarland Public High School where she also coached the Academic Decathlon team. In 2014, she moved to Milwaukee to teach at Marquette University High School where she taught economics and World History and served as the Model United Nations faculty advisor. Ms. Banks joins Aug Prep’s Social Studies Department to teach 10th grade US History.
