Theresa Jones High School Spanish Teacher

Miss Jones was first exposed to Spanish in seventh grade where she fell in love with learning the language.  She continued her studies through college, and spent an amazing semester living and studying in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico.  She received a double major in Psychology and Spanish from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, and returned the following year to complete her Education Licensure for K-12 Spanish.
Theresa spent her first three years teaching at St. Joseph Catholic Academy in Kenosha, and knew she had found her passion.  She thrived in this faith-filled small community, becoming involved in a variety of extra curricular activities: adult faith formation, liturgical music, key club, coaching, solo/ensemble, language club, and leading a trip to Costa Rica.  Later, she taught for three years at St. Joan Antida High School in Milwaukee, where she became enamored with urban education and was again part of the faith outcomes committee and liturgical music preparation and performance. She earned the position of World Language Department Chair in 2015.
Miss Jones is passionate about language learning and has the personal goal of visiting all of the Spanish speaking countries at least once.  She welcomes the opportunity to be part of the Aug Prep community and looks forward to working together to discover the God-given potential of each student there.
