SummerSpark! is St. Augustine Preparatory Academy’s in-house summer school program for students in grades K–12. Built by Aug Prep educators, SummerSpark! provides targeted academic support in a structured, caring environment that helps students strengthen skills, build confidence, and maintain momentum over the summer.

Who Summerspark! is For
SummerSpark! supports current Aug Prep students across all grade levels with programming tailored to their academic needs.

Grades K–8
Students participate in academic programming designed to reinforce learning, strengthen foundational skills, and support continued academic progress.

Grades 9–12
High school students enroll in credit recovery courses to stay on track for graduation.

Seats are limited and based on staffing and capacity.

What Students Learn
SummerSpark! offers a balanced academic experience that mirrors the structure and expectations of the school year while remaining developmentally appropriate for summer learning.

K-8 Academic Focus Areas

  • Reading

  • Math

  • Science

  • Social Studies / Integrated Writing

Students rotate through multiple academic blocks each day, allowing for focused instruction, reinforcement, and varied learning experiences. Students in K-2 can expect a more thematic approach to learning this summer.

High School Academic Focus

  • Credit recovery courses aligned to graduation requirements

  • Course-based schedules are designed to help students make progress efficiently
 
 
What a Typical Day Looks Like
SummerSpark! days are intentionally structured to support learning, relationships, and student success. 
 
Students experience: 
  • A predictable daily routine 
  • Multiple academic blocks
  • Cohort-based groupings (K-8)
  • Supervised transitions and dismissal 
 
Certified teachers lead instruction and are supported by trained high school and alumni counselors. providing more individualized attention. 
Program Dates
Extended Day Support (K-8)
SummerSpark! offers an extended day add-on for families who need care beyond the 2:00 p.m. dismissal. 
 
Extended day: 
  • Is available daily following SummerSpark! programming
  • Must be selected during SummerSpark! registration 
  • Provides supervised activities and continued care
  • Is staffed by trained Aug Prep educators and counselors 
 
Families who do not enroll in extended day should plan to pick up students promptly at 2:00 p.m. Those enrolled in extended care should be picked up by 3:30 p.m.
