In case you missed the Parent and Leadership Circle Meeting, please see the recorded virtual meeting here.

Aug Prep hosted its first Parent and Leadership Circle of the year. The presentation was led by the Director of Enrollment, Sean O’Reilly and translated by Fatima Munoz, Enrollment Coordinator. Families learned about the enrollment process for new and current students, the cost to educate a student at Aug Prep, Choice reimbursement dollars and plans to expand in August of 2023. Ms. Alamo closed by informing parents of our K4 - 8 Open House and encouraged to spread the word about our growth.

Parents stayed after the presentation to complete the school application for new students, register for choice assistance in February and register for our K4 - 8th Grade Open House. We had a combination of 25 in-person and virtual attendees.

Good Afternoon Middle School Parents,

Thank you for your continued support and partnership in ensuring our scholars experience success.  We are writing to inform you that your scholar will be participating in our upcoming MAP testing. We take the MAP test three times a year in reading, math, and science. This test assists us with identifying what areas your scholar is excelling in and what areas your scholar needs additional support in.  We use this information while planning for instruction and assigning your scholar to an intervention and enrichment program. This information is extremely vital as we want to ensure that your scholar is prepared for the next grade level, high school, college, and beyond. Please encourage your scholar to do their very best on these assessments.

Here a few steps for how you can support your child experience success:

  1. Please mark your calendars for January 23rd-February 8th. All scholars need to be present each day so that we can be sure all tests are complete. Please try to not schedule any appointments during this window. PLEASE TRY TO SCHEDULE APPOINTMENTS AFTER THESE DATES AS EARLY PICK-UPS WILL AFFECT THEIR SCORES. If your scholar is out due to quarantine, we will be in contact with you.

  2. Make sure your scholar is getting enough rest during the testing window (and always!) Go to sleep early, put the electronics away, and make sure to have a restful night each night!

  3. Make sure your student has a healthy breakfast or encourage them to eat our breakfast at school. We offer healthy options each day that are free to each student. They should not be eating sugary items before the school day as this can affect their attention. If you send lunch to school, please send healthy items.

  4. Cheer them on! We know our Aug Prep scholars will do fantastic. We will be doing a variety of test preparations and joyful incentives to encourage our kids!

Thank you again for your continued support. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at [email protected]

In Christ,

Jim Kalupa
