Theatre

Theatre is more than performance, it is a journey of creativity, faith, and growth that spans from third through twelfth grade. From the first spark of imagination in Upper Elementary to the advanced artistry of High School, students discover the power of storytelling, teamwork, and leadership in a Christ-centered environment.

Upper Elementary (3–5) In Upper Elementary, students begin with the building blocks of theatre: improvisation, movement, pantomime, and poetry. As they progress, they explore character work, rehearsal skills, short stories, and even the technical side of theatre. By 5th grade, they are stretching their creativity through playwriting, Shakespeare, and script analysis—all while experiencing the thrill of participating in a major production on the Aug Prep stage.

Middle School (6–8) Middle School theatre is all about igniting creativity, building confidence, and celebrating collaboration. During a 6-week rotation, sixth graders dive into the excitement of theatre with Reader’s Theatre, Drama Circles, Creative Drama, Mask Theatre, and Puppetry, laying a strong foundation of skills and vocabulary.  Students strengthen ensemble work and physical expression while expanding the use of voice, body, and imagination through theatre games and collaboration, building the confidence and flexibility of true performers. By eighth grade, they step into the full rehearsal process, mastering character development, blocking, and stage presence, culminating in a dynamic live performance in the Performing Arts Center that showcases their growth and talent.

High School (9–12) High School theatre builds on this momentum with a four-year program designed to refine both craft and character. Students grow in acting, directing, movement, stagecraft, and full-scale production while discovering how theatre can reflect truth and beauty. At every stage, they are invited to be storytellers of integrity—leaders who create with excellence and heart.

Theatre at Aug Prep is a place to be safe, be kind, and be brave. Everyone has a story worth telling, and together, we tell those stories.
