Faith at Aug Prep
St. Augustine Preparatory Academy is a multi-denominational Christian school. All of our faculty and staff are committed followers of Christ who desire to share the love of Jesus with our students. We seek to nurture faith in our community through spiritual life activities both on and off-campus. Therefore, a Christ-centered faith is integrated into every aspect of our school from academics to athletics and extracurriculars.
FAITH FORMATION BY GRADE LEVEL
K4 - 2nd Grade
Godly Play is a Montessori-based method for teaching the Bible to children. It is comprehensive while also contemplative and reflective. It invites children to find themselves in the sacred stories of God’s Word and to learn all the loving and faithful ways God cares for His children. Godly Play is designed for children 3 years of age and older and is a wonderful way for children to begin what we hope is a lifetime of learning of God’s love for them.
3rd - 5th Grade
Students are able to take a journey through the Bible from Genesis to Revelation. Students identify attributes of biblical character while reviewing specific scripture verses. In addition, students learn the importance of prayer and the attributes of God. We encourage Christian discipleship and leadership as students are able to grow and lead by participating in chapel services, serving as prayer partners and school leaders.
6 - 8th Grade
Biblical integration is a key focus at all levels and through everything we do - from academics, athletics, arts and extracurricular activities. Our middle school students use creative project-based learning to nurture a deep, personal relationship with Christ. Our students grow spiritually through our Bible curriculum, daily devotionals, chapel services, annual retreats and community service projects.
9 - 12th Grade
Biblical integration is a key focus at all levels and through everything we do - from academics, athletics, arts and extracurricular activities. Our high school students engage in deep discussions as they grow their knowledge of the Bible and nurture a personal relationship with Christ. Students grow spiritually through our Bible curriculum, daily devotionals, chapel services, annual retreats and community service projects.
CHAPEL WORSHIP EXPERIENCE
Chapels at Aug Prep are more than a time of spiritual gathering, it is a worship experience. Students lead as worship team members, student speakers, prayer partners and more. We have live music where many students play the drums, guitar and sing. We are building spiritual leaders by allowing our students to cultivate and express their faith through the arts as well as contributing to expounding on the Word of God through guidance from Aug Prep staff.
STUDENT RETREATS
Students in grades 6th-12th will attend a spiritual retreat. The goal is to allow students an opportunity to break away from the day to day activities and focus more on their relationships with one another and most importantly with Christ. Students experience team building, deep spiritual reflections about their faith journey, and often have the opportunity to share testimonies that encourage and inspire their classmates.
