Many of you have reached out to Aug Prep throughout the year to ask how you can help support our team and our students. Thank you! We are overwhelmed by the love and are so proud to serve alongside you as we educate our future leaders!
We do have a few ways YOU can help coming up:
1) Vote in your local election
While local elections are not as glamorous as a national presidential race or even the statewide race for governor, these elections can have an even bigger impact in our Wisconsin communities. You can find details on what’s on your ballot, where and when to vote at myvote.wi.gov. You can request your absentee ballot here.
The election is February 16 and the last day to get your absentee ballot is Feb. 11. In-person early voting can take place now through Feb. 14.
You’ll notice that this primary includes many DPI State Superintendent of Public Instruction candidates as well as school board candidates in some areas. BOTH are critical to vote in and impact the operations of Aug Prep. The nature of these elections means there is typically a very low turnout, making YOUR vote that much more important.
We are not advocating for any specific candidates (we legally cannot). However, many candidates in both the DPI State Superintendent of Public Instruction race as well as the MPS school board races run on platforms specifically against Choice and charter schools. I encourage you to take time to do your research - look them up on websites, listen to debates (specific opportunity here), and understand their positions to best equip yourself to vote.
2) Send a note of thanks to Aug Prep teachers and staff
We think our teachers have been doing a phenomenal job this year. It is a gift to serve your children. Our teachers and team are working particularly hard this year. If you are interested, please fill out this form and send a note either to a particular teacher or a general thanks and we’ll be sure to pass it along!
We are grateful that God has brought us together to persevere through this time!
All families that qualify for the Milwaukee/Wisconsin Choice program must re-enroll to secure their student's seat(s) for the 2021/2022 school year.
Please go online and complete the application here. Then submit your verification of address (and income for new students) by taking a picture of your documents and submitting it to email@example.com. A list of acceptable verification of address is here.
If you need assistance, please request a Zoom meeting here.

Middle school will be bringing scholars into school in February for MAP testing. As the test takes several hours and needs to be given by a teacher, we have been intentionally planning to ensure we are able to maintain a safe environment.
Tuesday, Feb 16th full day 8:10-3:30 PM/Wednesday, Feb 17th, 8:10-11:30- 8th Grade
Scholars will need to bring their charged Chromebook, charger and a water bottle. Scholars will not be required to wear uniforms; however, we do expect that scholars will be dressed appropriately (no midriff/sleeveless shirts/ripped pants/hats/inappropriate slogans).
Here is how we need your support to ensure we all stay healthy and safe:
Parents should check that their child is not exhibiting symptoms or has had contact with anyone who has tested positive for COVID prior to coming to school. We ask that you complete the COVID Reporting Form for any symptoms, close contact or if your child has traveled by plane.
Parents will be directed to pull up in front of the school between 7:40-8:10 AM.
Scholars will be temperature checked prior to leaving their car. Walkers will be screened upon arrival and parents will be contacted to pick their scholar up if they do not pass screening procedures. Scholars will need to be in their assigned classroom by 8:10 AM.
Scholars are required to wear masks at all times.
If a student exhibits symptoms, they will be moved to the library to quarantine and a parent will be requested to pick them up.
Middle school scholars will not be dismissed until 3:30 PM on Tuesday and 11:30 AM on Wednesday. Parents will be directed to park in the new parking lot, staff parking lot, or on the street. If you are using PikMyKid for your younger child, we ask that you park in a lot or the street afterward to wait for your middle school scholar. Please do not come to the main entrance to take them to your vehicle. We will escort them directly to you on these testing days. If your scholar is walking, please give written consent via e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org Note: We will not be able to dismiss scholars early as we do not want to disrupt the testing environment.
Please note that Wednesday testing will be done by 11:30. Please make arrangements to pick up your middle school scholar at 11:30.

Our arrival process in the mornings ends at 8:15. If you arrive later than 8:15, you will need to wait and be checked in. You cannot drop your student off at the curb and have them walk up, it is in violation of both our school drop-off plan and safety plan.
Regardless of your arrival time, families are expected to follow all processes and treat all Aug Prep staff with respect. Please know that all of our processes exist to keep our students and staff safe and healthy.
Please remain in your vehicle and please make sure everyone in the vehicle is wearing a mask.
Also, in order for us to efficiently dismiss students, we ask that EVERYONE use the PikMyKid app. Instructions on how to use the app are here. If you have any questions, please call the office Monday - Friday, 7 am to 5 pm.
No students may be picked up between 2:30-2:45 pm without prior approval from the principal. If a family arrives at 2:30, they need to wait until dismissal.
