Bernadette Carmona Math Teacher /

Ms. Carmona is truly honored to be a teacher at St. Augustine Prep. This will be her 15th year teaching middle school math and Algebra.  Ms. Carmona grew up just north of Chicago and went to a small college in Minnesota, St. Olaf College. Her path to becoming a teacher began at National-Louis University, where she received a Master of Arts in Teaching. Ms. Carmona then taught on the Southwest side of Chicago for seven years, later moving to the northwest side of Chicago for an additional 7 years.

All of her tenure as a teacher has been with the Chicago Public Schools. Ms. Carmona has spent her whole career working in predominantly Latino communities, where she earned an ESL endorsement and has been improving her Spanish speaking skills.

One thing that a lot of people may not know about Ms. Carmona is that when she is not teaching math, you can find her playing the violin with orchestras and theatre groups around the Chicagoland area. She also has two beautiful daughters who keep her very busy.   Ms. Carmona is excited to join the Aug Prep family and, more importantly, to serve the students on the southside of Milwaukee.
