Mrs. Hunt began her teaching career in 2010 teaching 2nd grade in a low-income school district just outside of Chicago. She taught both 2nd and 1st grade there, discovering her passion for educating multicultural learners.
In 2014, she was presented the incredible opportunity to teach 2nd grade at Disney II Magnet School in Chicago. Here, she was part of a school culture that prided itself on innovation, high-quality instruction, and academic excellence. She piloted a digital math curriculum, planned integrated learning opportunities for students, and designed project-based units that culminated in giving back to the community.
Mrs. Hunt was born and raised in the northwest suburbs of Chicago. She attended Purdue University, where she obtained her bachelor’s degree in elementary education with a concentration in reading and literacy. She later went on to receive her master’s degree in curriculum and instruction from Concordia University and her ESL endorsement from National-Louis University.
