James Kalupa

Mr. Kalupa has been an educator for twenty two years in the Milwaukee community. He began his career as a second-grade teacher at Bruce Guadalupe Community School, before transitioning to sixth grade Math and Social Studies. Mr. Kalupa has also worked as a Math Interventionist where he assisted students in developing and enhancing their pre-algebra and algebra skills.
In 2014, Mr. Kalupa was appointed Curriculum Coordinator for the United Community Center and was responsible for creating and overseeing the curriculum of 1450 students from pre-kindergarten through eighth grade. He subsequently served as an administer at Acosta Middle School, where he was involved with school operations, student intervention, and discipline.
Mr. Kalupa is beginning his third year at St. Augustine Prep Family as the Middle School Assistant Principal. He strongly believes in St. Augustine’s focus on family, faith, academics, and athletics. He feels that educators are entrusted with developing their students into the best version of themselves, and that St. Augustine’s commitment to family engagement, service to others, and emphasis on Christian faith will provide students with the necessary foundation for success.
Mr. Kalupa was awarded a Bachelor of Science degree in Business from Concordia University in 1984. He received a second Bachelor of Science degree in Education with a Social Studies minor from Carroll University in 1999. Mr. Kalupa returned to Concordia University in 2012, earning a Master of Science in Education Administration and a Curriculum and Instruction license. He enjoys Wisconsin sports and spending time with his wife and four children.
