SIXTEENTH STREET COMMUNITY HEALTH CENTERS
SSCHC provides essential non-emergency health care services in Aug Prep’s Pat and Rachel English Clinic. All students and their family members, including all household members, may receive services at the in-school clinic. Preventive healthcare and regular wellness visits help reduce sick days so Aug Prep students can stay in school.
SCHROEDER AQUATICS
Drowning is a major cause for morbidity and mortality among children, with several factors increasing the risk such as lower socioeconomic status, being a member of an ethnic minority, and lack of higher education. Schroeder Aquatics teaches introductory swim and water safety courses at Aug Prep’s state-of-the-art aquatics facility. Schroeder Aquatics also coaches club and high school swim teams, offers swim instruction to other neighborhood schools as well as to the surrounding community. Additionally, high school students have the option to enroll in lifeguarding classes, giving them a great opportunity for summer employment.
SMART SMILES DENTAL PROGRAM
Aug Prep partners with Smart Smiles to provide free dental services, including screenings, fluoride treatments, sealants, diagnosis, recommended treatments, oral health education, and preventative dental services. This service has been provided to over 160 students in the 2020-2021 school year.
ASENSION HEALTHCARE
Ascension Healthcare provides medical services to students through their onsite nurse. The nurse also helps with health education throughout the school.
