Caila Bauer

Mrs. Bauer began her career as a middle school history teacher at Lumin, a network that provided valuable insight into urban education. Her first year came with various challenges that ultimately shaped her identity as an educator. Through these experiences, she discovered a deep passion for making a meaningful impact in the lives of children and a strong commitment to contributing to positive change within urban education.

In 2012, she became the founding kindergarten teacher at a choice school in Milwaukee. There, she continually pushed herself as an educator and embraced the challenge of proving that the impossible was possible. During her three years teaching kindergarten, Mrs. Bauer led her scholars to achieve the highest academic growth in the network. Her students consistently surpassed district goals, often leaving her classroom reading 1.5 to 2 years above grade level.

Following three successful years in the classroom, Mrs. Bauer transitioned into a leadership role as the Dean of Instruction. In 2018, she joined St. Augustine Preparatory Academy as a 1st grade teacher. After two years in the classroom, she became an Instructional Coach, a role she held for two years. During this time, she found great fulfillment in walking alongside her teachers, supporting their growth, and continuing to refine her own instructional practices.

Her leadership journey continued at Aug Prep when she became Assistant Principal in 2023, where she further expanded her impact on school culture and student achievement. In 2024, Mrs. Bauer stepped into her current role as Lower Elementary Principal.

At the heart of Mrs. Bauer’s work is her deep love for serving children. She is passionate about teaching the whole child—nurturing their academic, social, and emotional growth—and is dedicated to meeting the needs of all learners. Whether in the classroom or through her leadership, she remains committed to creating joyful, inclusive, and high-achieving learning environments where every child can thrive.
