Johnathan Powell

Johnathan Powell is entering his eighth year of teaching at Augustine Prep. Born and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, he has worked with nearly every age group, from energetic Kindergarteners to ambitious High School Seniors. Over the years, he’s built a wide range of experience, including serving as a Middle School Summer School teacher through the Center for Urban Teaching and working as a paraprofessional for 3rd and 5th grade at a private school on Milwaukee’s North Side. Before joining Aug Prep, Mr. Powell supported High School students as an Academic Interventionist, where he witnessed just how critical a strong Middle School education is in shaping long-term academic success.

 

Mr. Powell has always been deeply rooted in church ministry, which helped cultivate his passion for teaching the Bible to students of all ages. He holds a degree in History from the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee (2018) and recently completed his Master of Theological Studies through Midwestern Baptist Seminary. He is now pursuing a Master’s in School Leadership at Baylor University as he continues to grow in his calling as an educator and faith leader.
