Joshua Cameron

Joshua Cameron is an elementary teacher at St. Augustine Preparatory Academy, currently teaching 4th grade. He is passionate about helping his students grow—academically, in character, and in their faith. He is excited to walk alongside them as they develop a deeper love for learning and for Jesus.

Before becoming a teacher, Joshua played professional basketball overseas and for the Albany Patroons in New York. He also competed at the Division I level for Coastal Carolina University, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies. While basketball played a significant role in his journey, Joshua believes that God consistently led him toward education and working with youth.

Throughout his career, Joshua has had the privilege of working with students from K4 through 8th grade. He finds immense joy in witnessing their excitement for learning. He believes that hard work, dedication, and faith are the foundations for success and strives to instill these values in his students each day.

Outside the classroom, music plays a big role in Joshua’s life. He plays bass guitar for his church and at Aug Prep’s chapel. Using his musical gifts to inspire and connect with students is one of his greatest passions.

Joshua is also a proud new father of twins, and watching them grow each day has deepened his appreciation for the beauty of learning. His greatest hope is that his students grow in their love for Jesus and learning, developing the confidence and character to pursue their God-given potential.
