Matthew Tisdel
Mr.Tisdel began his career in education back in 2015 as an Alumni Volunteer at his former high school in Detroit, Michigan after graduating from Marquette University with a major in Digital Media and a minor in History. While working at the University of Detroit Jesuit High School, he discovered a passion for teaching which lead him to get his Master's degree in Education from John Carroll University in 2019 and his continued career in the field of education.
As a College & Career Advisor/Senior Seminar teacher, Mr. Tisdel is looking forward to assisting students with their journey towards readiness for higher education and professional endeavors, connecting high schoolers with resources and opportunities including pre-college programming and internships. He is very excited about serving his students to help prepare them for their futures beyond Aug Prep.

Mr. Tisdel enjoys being outside in his free time, specifically riding his longboard, or snowboard, depending on the weather conditions. He avidly loves being out on the water fishing, boating, swimming, and has even sailed a catamaran through the Caribbean. Besides being an outdoorsman, he loves playing video games and is a huge movie buff who is willing to talk anything and everything movies. He is a die heart Detroit Lions fan, but loves to attend any live sporting event to see athletes compete against one another. He has traveled to six different countries over his life and plans on consistently adding more destinations to his list.
