Gavin Smith

My name is Gavin Smith, and although I am new to St. Aug Prep, I have proudly served in education for more than 25 years. I am excited to begin this new school year with our students, families, and staff, and I look forward to the opportunities ahead; learning new things, building meaningful connections, and working together to make this a successful and memorable founding school year.

One of my greatest joys as an educational leader is knowing that I am walking in my purpose and calling. Education has always been more than a profession for me; it is an opportunity to inspire, guide, and support young people as they discover and reach their full potential.

I earned my bachelor’s degree in Community Engagement and Education from the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee in 2016 and continued my educational journey at Wisconsin Lutheran College, where I pursued a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership in 2021.

After serving as a classroom teacher, I transitioned into leadership roles as a Dean of Students and Assistant Principal with Seton Catholic Schools and Milwaukee Public Schools. These experiences strengthened my passion for creating positive school cultures where every student feels supported, valued, and empowered to succeed.

As a husband and father of four wonderful children, I understand the importance of family and community. Those personal experiences continue to shape my leadership, decision-making, and commitment to helping students grow academically, socially, and emotionally.

I am honored to serve the St. Aug Prep community and look forward to an incredible school year together.
