Cheryl Castaneda
With 21 years of teaching experience, I’ve had the joy of working at every grade
level—serving as a lead teacher, intervention specialist, teacher, and substitute. My
career has been dedicated to supporting the children of Milwaukee’s inner city through
charter schools. I’m a graduate of Cardinal Stritch University, making my move to St.
Augustine Prep feels like a full circle moment.
I’m excited to serve in a community that supports the whole child, the family, and
the community, all with God at the center. My teaching philosophy has stayed the same
throughout my career: I believe learning through play—at every grade level—is one of
the most powerful ways for students to grow. Joy, curiosity, and handson exploration guide
my approach to teaching.
When I’m not at school, you can find me fireside at my camper or in Guatemala visiting my
grandchildren.
