Daniel Leavins

Mr. Leavins experienced childhood in the remotest parts of southeast Alabama in the “gigantic” cities of Brantley, Skipperville, Newton, and eventually in high school Troy which was the first place he lived that had a grocery store!

His first impulse towards teaching came when he served as a missionary in Moscow, Russia in his mid-20s. He taught the Bible to high school students each week at their youth group.

Once he caught the teaching “bug” it fully infected him. He studied theology in Dallas and then biblical languages in Washington, D.C. He received two masters degrees and a Ph.D. for his efforts. 

During that time of education and afterwards Mr. Leavins spent 15 years teaching congregations and classes in local churches in Springfield, VA and Neenah, WI. After his move to Milwaukee in early 2026 he met a faculty member of Aug Prep, investigated the school, loved everything he saw, applied, and became a teaching fellow as soon as he could.

Mr. Leavins has three young-adult daughters, a teenage son, and a son-in-law. In his free time he enjoys reading fantasy novels, jogging very slowly, theater and anything else.
