Rachel Wiedower

Ms. Wiedower began her teaching career in Early Childhood Education when she was a student at UW Eau- Claire. Mrs. Wiedower earned her B.A. degree in Psychology and went on to teach school-aged children in a childcare setting.

Since then, she has been fortunate to serve children in multiple roles as both a classroom teacher and a mental health professional for a local treatment hospital. In this role, Ms. Wiedower developed a better understanding of how social emotional learning plays a critical role in education. As her passion for teaching progressed, she went back to school to earn her M.A. in Education from Alverno College. This wonderful experience shaped her into the educator she is today.

As part of her program at Alverno, Ms. Wiedower wrote a research thesis on how social emotional learning may impact student’s success in the classroom. A highlight of her career occurred when Ms. Wiedower was chosen to present her research findings in a workshop at Alverno College’s Character Education Conference in June, 2018. She continues to learn about social emotional learning, positive behavioral interventions and classroom management.

Ms. Wiedower is a passionate and dedicated teacher who is committed to knowing each student’s strengths and applying multiple strategies to address the needs of the whole child- mind, body and soul. She looks forward to getting to know you and your student!
